A JOURNEY WITH DANCE
As a dancer since the age of 3, Anna Cannavo has developed a deep passion for dance, as well as for educating the next generation. Since graduating high school, she has attended Point Park University and recently graduated with two degrees; a B.A. in Dance, with a jazz concentration, and a B.A. in Elementary Education.

Growing up, Anna trained in all styles of dance, began competing in middle school, and joined Mariposa Apprentice Dance Company, a pre-professional company under Tabatha Robinson-Scott. This is where Anna was introduced to Afro-Modern styles and concert dance. At MJ Dance Center, Anna was pushed to pursue an education in both dance and teaching by her teachers Ashley Mooney, Molly Misgalla and Sarah Parker to name a few.

Since her time began at Point Park, she has worked closely with professors including Kiki Lucas, Kiesha Lalama, and Jason McDole, student works brought to both film and stage, and notable choreographers like Maud Arnold. In the summer of 2022, she worked as a teaching artist for Attack Theatre, bringing arts curriculum to a special need's public school in the Pittsburgh area. She enjoys teaching and choreographing around Pennsylvania, as well as practicing her ACE Group Fitness Instructor certification within her dance classes. She began judging and adjudicating for both All Out Dance Competition and the PAC Collective in 2024-2025. Anna is signed with The Talent Group Agency, Pittsburgh.
